Maumere, Sikka Regency of Flores Islands in Indonesia - Sarana Daun Hijau will be assembling a few of their agronomists to team up with a missionary organisation in Maumere, Flores to launch a training program aimed at educating youth leaders about sustainable farming practices.
The program is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2024, which will be held in partnership with the local community, and will focus on teaching young people from the missionary’s education program about the latest innovations in agriculture and how to grow crops in an environmentally-friendly and sustainable way. In addition, participants will learn about the importance of fair labour practices and how to improve the standard of living for farmers and their communities.
The program will provide practical training in the field and will include workshops, hands-on demonstrations, and visits to local farms to see sustainable agriculture practices in action. The goal is to equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders in the agriculture industry and help drive positive change in their communities.
The company's CMO, who is also an advocate of sustainable agriculture, said, "We believe that the future of agriculture lies in the hands of the next generation. By working together with the local community, we can empower young people to become agents of change and help build a more sustainable and equitable food system for all."
The training program is just one of many initiatives the company is undertaking to promote sustainable agriculture and improve the standard of living for farmers. The company plans to continue its efforts in the region and expand its programs to other communities in the future.
This collaboration between SDH and the missionary organisation is a positive step towards creating a better future for farmers and their communities, and it demonstrates the importance of working together to achieve a common goal."
